Intranet with clear Navigation and improved Search increases Efficiency and saves Time
Founded in 1850, Luzerner Kantonalbank AG is the leading bank in the canton of Lucerne, with more than 1’000 members of staff. As a traditional full-service bank, LUKB offers all the services of a modern bank. It operates a total of 25 offices, making it one of the largest cantonal banks in Switzerland.
Initial situation
While LUKB previously had an intranet environment, it had reached the end of its life cycle and was in need of an upgrade. The old intranet was based on an on-premise version of SharePoint 2010 and used the MatchPoint framework overseen by LiveTiles, a software company. The starting point for the project was to switch to the ShareSpace framework, until it emerged that Swisscom, the operator of the SharePoint environment, was no longer using this. A new solution was found in the form of Wizdom, a framework that meets all the strictest standards that apply in the financial sector.
Solution
A state-of-the-art on-premise intranet based on SharePoint 2019 and the Wizdom framework was subsequently installed. The focus was on implementing streamlined design, clear navigation and a close-knit search feature. On behalf of LUKB, isolutions developed a system interface that can be used to see the respective status of the current peripheral systems at regular intervals and report any faults to employees in a timely manner. This is in addition to a Scodi4P interface, which enables the Scodi process portal to be integrated into the intranet. Employees can now use the intranet as a central portal to search for answers to their questions, quickly find documents and thereby perform their work more efficiently. Furthermore, company-wide news is clearly structured and displayed on the homepage for the employees.
